Farm to forests, bears, blueberries and backpacks- Winnipeg born artist Glenna Evans Mulvihill has spent decades spying through a lens, translating onto canvas by paint and threads the roar of waves, whispers from stones, the shadow of clouds. Comforting ghosts of history within the environment.
Glenna’s studio experiences including the U of M Faculty of Fine Arts provided her multi-disciplinary skills. Fuelled by working with young artists as an early years educator, her passion takes action to splash colour into new artistic opportunities through gallery showings, movie sets and workshops. Her works have been sold across the prairies, the American Midwest and over the big pond in England.
Since great things never come from comfort zones, her creative vibe is often drawn from travelling and nature. Glenna then seeks respite in her studios located in Winnipeg and The Interlake, reliving threads of adventures.
Spontaneous. Chaotic. Her method blends raw colour and emotion directly to canvas. Textures hum. Strokes zing and sing Love My Earth until her creation holds its own tune. Glenna believes “The purpose of art is to bring people into presence” (J Carrey). Join her!
