Teresa Carey is an interdisciplinary artist living in Manitoba's Interlake region where she creates her distinctive clay art from her home studio. She utilizes textiles and natural materials to create surface interest on, both, functional and decorative hand built ceramics. Often drawing on pagan sources, her work is imbued with a timeless quality and sense of mystery. Teresa's aim is to draw the viewer to explore their inner self and connection with earth and spirit to foster an appreciation for what is real.
Teresa has been working in clay for close to three decades. Photography and the written word are also strong interests. She previously published a magazine which featured the arts and culture of Interlake people and places. She also has a vast catalogue of photos, mainly of Interlake wildlife and landscape scenes.
