Kathy George - Moore Gallery

I am a new artist, within the past 4 years I have discovered painting, having never attempted it before. I have always been interested in art and photography, doing crafts including sewing and needlework, but the skill of painting was something I didn’t think was possible. In 2013 I attended a camp in Yosemite park and it was at this camp that I first attempted to paint. There were artists offering workshops and I thought I would try it. On my return home I spent time on you tube and self taught for a few years. Last winter I attended a drawing class and discovered more . A friend we met a couple of years ago is also an artist and slowly introduced me to the world of artists in the community. So this is a new adventure.

I have worked in health care as a nurse for many years, I am married with 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren. Life is very busy, but inspiration for painting is abundant and the practice of painting is very meditative. I find that wildlife and landscapes offer peace beyond the rush of life.
