Michel Campbell

Raising a family of three and working full, time Michele would find the time to sharpen her talents. Watercolor with Nancy Ateah, oil painting at the WAG, printmaking workshop at Art West camp, acrylic painting with Andrew Giffin and most recent acrylic painting and figure drawing with Milos Milidrag.

Domestic and wild animals are her favorite subjects to draw or paint. Some of her pieces are signed with bar codes, which symbolizes the commercial exploitation of animals. During Christmas 2011 there was a lot of media attention on the plight of the polar bears, because of their habitat disappearing. Being passionate about their situation, Michele had to express herself on canvas. Placing a Dodo bird on some of the pictures was just the way the media made her feel. (Going the way of the Dodo)

Michele has done commission work, juried art shows, local shows with other artist in her community and has donated art for fundraisers. She is currently a member of the MSA, Gwen Fox Gallery, Cre8tery Gallery and two small local art groups. Her Artwork has been sold at Wayne Author Gallery, Scoop a lot, some local shows and a store called Sense of Manitoba. Michele resides with her husband just outside the small town of Beausejour, Manitoba.
